We are pleased to invite applications for the position of Grand Divan Manager at Simpson's in the Strand (Head of Department role). This position represents a step up for an experienced Senior Restaurant Manager who is ready to lead a department. It is one of the most senior floor leadership roles within the group.
The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and the Assistant General Manager and will lead a management team of nine managers alongside the wider Grand Divan brigade. The role works in close partnership with the Reception Manager, the Head Chef and their kitchen team.
The role
The Head of Department sets the standard for the room, developing and coaching the management team and ensuring a seamless guest experience. They will hold responsibility for staffing and productivity levels, oversee induction and training and support the General Manager on appraisals, budgets, P&L analysis and revenue control. Proficiency with Seven Rooms, S4labour, EPOS and cost control systems is essential, together with the commercial awareness to protect margins.
