Jeremy King Restaurants consists of Arlington, The Park and the soon to be opening Simpsons in the Strand, with further sites planned in the future.
As our Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the overall financial integrity, control environment, and performance insight of the company. A key aspect of the role is to oversee, challenge, and support an outsourced management accounting function, ensuring timely, accurate, and decision-useful financial information is delivered to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Deliver insightful variance analysis with clear commentary for senior management.
- Oversee year-end accounts and act as primary contact for external auditors and accountants.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes across multiple sites.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and liquidity.
- Monitor capital expenditure and cash flow for new openings
Cost Control & Margin Improvement
- Monitor and analyse food, beverage, and labour costs against targets.
- Work closely with the Operations team to identify cost-saving and margin-enhancing opportunities.
- Maintain and improve stock control, wastage reporting, and gross margin analysis.
Controls, Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain robust financial controls across all sites.
- Improve finance processes and reporting efficiency through systems and automation.
- Oversee POS, inventory and finance system integrations.
Key Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a Senior Finance position within hospitality, retail, or multi-site environments.
- Strong understanding of restaurant KPIs: labour %, GP, sales mix, and site-level profitability.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Xero, Tenzo, Marketman and Seven Rooms preferred.
